The Dictionary is complied and translated by Chinese and British experts and scholars. It is made up of three parts: the body, the appendix and index. The 2911 entries in the body refer to all the important western philosophical terms ranging from ancient Greece to the present, with an emphasis on modern and present western philosophy. Some entries, taken from Greek, Latin, German or French, are equipped with the etymological explanations. And each entry is explained both in Chinese and English. In the appendix, the editors list the brief introductions and main works of 442 famous western philosophers. The three indexes help the reader to use the Dictionary with much convenience and from different angles.
